Please join me today, Saturday 25th June, to have your say on local proposals to change GP services and to hear about how you can be part of the HealthE17 campaign. This event will be between 1.30pm to 3pm in central Walthamstow, and is free to attend but spaces are limited so to book your place please email. The HealthyE17 campaign is currently working on tackling the impact of PFI debt on our healthcare services and also increasing the voice of patients in our NHS over how services are run and provided. Please email if you would like to join this work.

On Thursday 30th June at 7pm I will be holding a special public meeting for Walthamstow residents regarding the consequences of the EU referendum vote. This will be a community planning exercise to determine how together we address the many issues- from possible rises in personal debt, the challenges facing local businesses and increases in interest rates and the costs of living. This event is your opportunity to be part of the practical planning considerations for businesses, campaigners and residents alike of Walthamstow on the impact of the vote to leave the European Union. All Walthamstow residents are welcome- whether they voted to remain or leave, or if they were able to vote or not- and we will be inviting guest experts to assist in this process. This event is free and to help us with the logistics for this event please reply email to confirm your interest in attendance with your postal address in Walthamstow.

In memory of Jo Cox and to show our support for those fleeing persecution, we are organising a weekend of community action in Jo's honour, working with both Eat or Heat - our local foodbank- and the refugee charity Side by Side. This project will take over the St Johns Ambulance base on East Ave in Walthamstow. On Saturday 2 July we will be seeking volunteers to help refurbish three caravans to send to Calais for the refugees as well as collecting goods for both the foodbank and the caravans themselves.
